The research began with the study of the Cunani or Aristé Collection belonging to the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, which was found on the banks of the Cunani River, more precisely, in an elevation called Monte Curú, in Amapá, by Emílio Goeldi and Aureliano Lima Guedes in 1895. Such collection, due to the quantity and quality of the ceramic material, found in very good conservation conditions inside a funerary well. At present we are working on a bibliographical survey and in particular on the reproduction of seventeen well preserved whole pieces. The study aims at a better understanding of the material in order to proceed to its morphological classification. For each piece, a drawing is made, highlighting the relationship between the parts essential to the classification: considering base diameter, mouth diameter, maximum diameter, minimum diameter, total height, and neck height. For each decorative motif, the technique used in their execution is emphasized. The drawings are done in ink and accompany the collection's description cards. Most of the pieces in the collection showed a deterioration of the decoration due to restoration and the passage of time - it should be remembered that the discovery of the Cunani Collection will complete a century soon. It was concluded that a great part of the pieces of this collection present red paint over beige engobe, and with burning some pieces present complete oxidation and incomplete oxidation. (CNPq). O trabalho que está sendo desenvolvido forma parte de um projeto mais abrangente, intitulado: A Microrregião do Oiapoque: Estudo Etno-Arqueológico das Culturas do Rio Cunani, AP. A pesquisa iniciou com o estudo da Coleção Cunani ou Aristé pertencente ao Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi e que fora encontrada à margem do Rio Cunani, mais precisamente, em uma elevação de terra denominada Monte Curú, no Amapá, por Emílio Goeldi e Aureliano Lima Guedes em 1895. Tal coleção, pela quantidade e qualidade do material cerâmico, encontrado em muito boas condições de conservação dentro de um poço funerário. Atualmente se está trabalhando no levantamento bibliográfico e em particular na reprodução de dezessete peças inteiras ainda bem conserva das. O estudo visa uma melhor compreensão do material para proceder à sua classificação morfológica. Para cada peça realiza-se o desenho da mesma, ressaltando a relação entre as partes essenciais à classificação: considerando se diâmetro da base, diâmetro da boca, diâmetro do máximo, diâmetro mínimo, altura total e altura do gargalo. Ressalta-se para cada motivo decorativo a técnica empregada na execução das mesmas. Os desenhos são feitos à nanquim e acompanham as fichas descritivas da coleção. Constatou-se, na maioria das peças da coleção, deterioração da decoração decorrente da restauração que sofreram e do transcurso do tempo - deve-se lembrar que a descoberta da Coleção Cunani completará um século em breve. Conclui-se que grande parte das peças da referida coleção apresenta pintura vermelha sobre engobo bege, e com queima algumas peças apresentam oxidação completa e oxidação incompleta.
