Among the families with interest for fishing are: Palaemonidae and Penaeidae. This work provides preliminary data on the species occurring in Vigia, Pa, as well as some biometric data of the species Penaeus subtilis. The samples were collected from February 1995 to December 1995 at intervals of one month in three specific sites: Boca de Vigia (open area), Praia de Vigia (transition) and Igarapé Anuerá (inland) with a 151mn trawl. We calculated the diversity index for each season and site, richness index for each season, carapace length frequency for each site, regression between carapace length and total length, and analysis of variance between sites for P. subtilis. A total of 4892 specimens belonging to seven species were collected. For each season there was a difference in the number of species. The diversity index in the dry season was higher than in the rainy season due to the presence of both Caridea and Penaeidea individuals while in the rainy season there were only Caridea individuals. In the rainy season the highest diversity index occurred in Praia de Vigia, while in the dry season, the highest index occurred in Boca de Vigia. The highest richness index occurred in the rainy season. Through the regression analysis it was observed that the total length is 4.57 times bigger than the carapace length. Through the analysis of variance it was observed that the individuals of P. subtilis in the three collection sites cannot be considered from the same population. The frequency of carapace length at the collection sites was between 8.00 mm and 13.00 mm. These lengths are considered in the literature as corresponding to young individuals, this indicates that the region studied is a nursery for recruitment of the species P. subtilis. Os camarões constituem-se num importante recurso pesqueiro, seja para consumo da comunidade ou como produto de exportação. Dentre as famílias com interesse para a pesca, tem-se: Palaemonidae e Penaeidae. Este trabalho fornece dados preliminares sobre as espécies ocorrentes no município de Vigia - Pa, bem como alguns dados biométricos da espécie Penaeus subtilis. As coletas foram realizadas no período de Fevereiro/95 a Dezembro/95 com intervalos de um mês em três locais determinados: Boca de Vigia (mais aberto), Praia de Vigia (transição) e Igarapé Anuerá (no interior) com rede-de-arrasto de 151mn.Os exemplares coletados foram fixados em formo 1 a 10% para posterior análise no laboratório de ictiologia do MPEG. Foram calculados os índices de diversidade para cada estação e local, índice de riqueza para cada estação, frequência de comprimento da carapaça para cada local, regressão entre comprimento da carapaça e comprimento total e análise de variância entre os locais para P. subtilis. Foram coletados 4892 exemplares pertencentes a sete espécies. Para cada estação houve diferença no número de espécies. O índice de diversidade na estação seca foi maior que na estação chuvosa devido à presença tanto de indivíduos da ordem Caridea como Penaeidea enquanto na estação chuvosa só ocorreram indivíduos da ordem Caridea. Na estação chuvosa o maior índice de diversidade ocorreu na Praia de Vigia, enquanto na estação seca, o maior índice ocorreu na Boca de Vigia. O maior índice de riqueza ocorreu na estação chuvosa. Através da análise de regressão observou-se que o comprimento total é 4,57 vezes maior que o da carapaça. Através da análise da variância observou-se que os indivíduos de P. subtilis nos três locais de coleta não podem ser considerados da mesma população. A frequência do comprimento da carapaça nos locais de coleta situaram-se entre 8,00 mm e 13,00 mm.
