Based on this reference, among others, this research focused on the understanding of the insertion of the boy in the work of fishing and the ritualistic aspects involving this process, having as a parameter the fishing village of Algodoal, in the northeast of Pará, in the municipality of Maracanã. The method used was ethnographic, along with anthropological field research techniques, such as: open interviews, direct observation, etc. The study shows that the boy's entry into fishing represents one of the strategies to guarantee the subsistence of the family group. This context will take place within a ritualistic aspect manifested in the boy's first trip to the outside fishing grounds, with his insertion in the crew, where his behavior before the older fishermen will show how fit or not he will be to continue the fishing profession. This indicates to us that fishermen's children are seen as a way to guarantee the performance of subsistence activities, as labor in the daily fishing routine, thus excluding an old crew component that caused the fragmentation of the income from this activity, with a tendency to concentrate work and income in the family nucleus. Com base neste referencial, dentre outros, esta pesquisa centrou-se na compreensão da inserção do menino nó trabalho da pesca e dos aspectos ritualísticos envolvendo este processo, tendo como parâmetro a vila de pescadores de Algodoal, no nordeste paraense, no município de Maracanã. O método usado foi o etnográfico, juntamente com técnicas antropológicas de pesquisa de campo, como: entrevista aberta, observação direta etc. O Estudo mostra que a entrada do menino no trabalho da pesca, representa uma das estratégias para garantir a subsistência do grupo familiar. Este contexto dar-se-á dentro de um aspecto ritualístico manifestado na primeira viagem do menino à pesca de fora, com sua inserção na tripulação, onde seu comportamento, perante aos pescadores mais velhos, evidenciará, o quanto será ou não apto para prosseguir a profissão de pescador. Isso nos indica, que os filhos de pescadores são vistos como uma forma de garantir a realização das atividades destinadas à subsistência, como mão-de-obra no cotidiano pesqueiro, excluindo, deste modo, um antigo componente da tripulação que ocasionava a fragmentação da renda proveniente desta atividade, havendo, desta forma, uma tendência à concentração do trabalho e da renda no núcleo familiar. 2023-01-16T17:27:40Z 2023-01-16 2023-01-16T17:27:40Z 1998-06-24 Resumo CARDOSO, Luís Fernando Cardoso e; FURTADO, Lourdes.
