The Bananal do Pocinho habitation site is located on the banks of the Igarapé do Lago, in the southern region of Amapá State. Systematic research in the area is recent and with little consistent data about the production process of the prehistoric groups that inhabited the region. This work aims at the technical and morphological analysis of the ceramic material collected at the site in question. As methodology we carried out: identification of additives using binocular magnifying glass; observation of surface treatments; identification and separation of object parts; selection of edges and bases for profile drawing; diameter measurement, when possible, of both the edge and the base. The result of the technical analysis showed that the additives used to make the ceramic body were of vegetal and mineral origin, and crushed ceramic shards. These additives were used alone or mixed together; the most popular was crushed rock. In the material examined there is a predominance of fragments without decoration, but in a small part, there is the use of plastic and painted decorative techniques, used together or isolated. These decorative techniques always occur on the parts of the vessel which are exposed. As for the morphological analysis, we identified and classified edges, lips, bases and profiles of vessels, according to the proposal of Chyrnz (1976). The material collected at the site does not present whole vessels, therefore we started the reconstruction of the shapes from the study of the fragments. We have already reconstructed 5 shapes, classified in 5 types, based on the works of Mello (1995) and Shepard (1963), considering the opening and the contour of the vessel. The data obtained from this analysis allows a first characterization of the ceramic objects from the region of Igarapé do Lago
