This work aims to clarify daily aspects of Gurupá during this period, given the need for a study that analyzes the social dynamics and environmental intervention that occurred with the increase in population. For this purpose, another documental survey is necessary in the search for conflicting and contradictory aspects that involved the population living near the Fortress. João VI asks Alexandre de Souza Freyre, governor and captain general of the state of Maranhão, to expel three religious from the aforementioned village, because "(...) the most of them continually deny to the war corporal all the Indians who seek him for my service, defending them with weapons, and decomposing them all, as happened with the corporal of the Gorupá Fortress Jozê Bernardo Pessoa (...)". Therefore, confronting this documental information with theoretical references involving the environmental and landscape study of Gurupá will allow us to relate this data to the archeological research to be developed in this locality. As fontes documentais até agora pesquisadas demonstraram que a Fortaleza de Gurupá passou pelo menos por três tentativas de reconstrução: 1691, 1762 e 1771 - datas que demarcam intensas modificações paisagísticas e sociocultural nesta localidade. Este trabalho visa esclarecer aspectos cotidianos de Gurupá durante este período, haja vista a necessidade de um estudo que analise a dinâmica social e: intervenção ambiental ocorrida com o aumento populacional. Para tanto, faz-se necessário outro levantamento documental na busca de aspectos conflitantes ' contraditórios que envolveram a população residente nas proximidades da Fortaleza O documento número 102, de 1730, extraído do códice 865, trás um desses aspectos onde, devido aos conflitos entre religiosos e militares pela mão-de-obra indígena El Rei D. João VI pede ao governador e capitão general do estado do Maranhão Alexandre de Souza Freyre, que expulse três religiosos do referido aldeamento, pois "(..) os de mais continuamente negão aos cabos de guerra todos os índios q' lhe procurão para o meu servco. defendendo os com armas, e decompondo os, todos, como sucedeo com o cabo da Fortaleza do Gorupá Jozê Bernardo Pessoa. (..) ".
