The islands of Algodoal and Maiandeua located in the municipality of Maracanã, Pará, Brazil, have frequent occurrence of several vegetational types such as mangrove, dune and restinga. The restinga is characterized by plant communities where some species remain undetermined, requiring, therefore, palynological studies. In order to continue the project that deals with pollen studies of the restinga, this work investigates the morphology of the pollen grains of the species: Ouratea castanaefolia (DC) Engl., Ouratea microdonta (Dalz.) Engl, Ouratea racemiformis Ule, Sauvagesia erecta L. and Acisanthera gracilis U1e. (Family Ochnaceae) and Comolia lytbrarioides (Steud.) Miquel, Mouriri guianensis Aubl.,Nepsera aquatica Naud. (Family Melastomataceae). Adult flower buds were taken from the herbaria MG (Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, Belém) and IAN (Embrapa - Amazônia Oriental, Belém), whose pollen grains were acetolyzed, measured, described and photomicrographed. In general, the pollen grains analyzed are very similar to each other. Those from Ochnaceae are small, 3-colporate, punctate surface and those from Melastomataceae are 3-colporate, 3-pseudocolporate, ranging from small to medium, smooth to punctate surface. Pollen keys were elaborated in order to separate the species. |
