The growing increase in areas of secondary vegetation (capoeiras), coupled with little knowledge of this type of vegetation, justifies the need for studies on the dynamics of natural regeneration, which can serve as a basis for management plans. The present work aims to contribute to the knowledge of the dynamics of natural regeneration of secondary forests, through the analysis of three stands of different successional stages. To evaluate the floristic composition of natural regeneration were installed randomly within each area, sub-plots of 5 m x 5 m for measurement of sticks (individuals with 2.5 in?DAP?5 in) and sticks (DAP?2.5 in and height? 1.5 m), and within this was drawn a strip of 1 m x 5 m for measurement of seedlings (30 in? height? 1.5 m). The younger Acapoeira showed species present in all measurements, such as Talisia guianensis, Bscbueilera coriacea and Gustavia augusta. However, species such as Cassipourea guianensis and Paypayrola grandiflora were present only at the first measurement. In the 30-year forest, species were also observed to be present in all three measurements and distributed in all size classes, such as: Ouratea castaneaefolia, Talisia guianensis and Talisia longifolia. The species Connarus perrottettii was found in all three measurements, however, only in the classes, pole and stick. Talisia guianensis and Ouratea castaneaefolia also stood out in the older forest, being present in all measurements and size classes, showing high adaptability of these species to different environmental conditions. In the class called seedling the species Ocotea guianensis stood out for its frequency in the measurements
