The "Moça Nova ritual" is one of the identity symbols of the Ticuna society and consists of a party with drinks, musical instruments and masked costumes, its performance is of fundamental importance for the preservation of the group's traditions, thus valuing their culture. This work was produced from the 61 Ticuna ethnographic collection "Curt Nimuendaju" preserved in the technical reserve of the Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi. The study was based specifically on the category musical and signaling instruments (Ribeiro, 1988), which comprises 61 artifacts, being 59 musical instruments and two musical instrument accessories that are directly linked to the "Festa da Moça Nova". The objective was to analyze the place of the instruments and classify them according to the Ticuna representations in the context of the ritual. Thus, we intended to understand the symbolic meaning expressed through the use of the instruments during the entire celebration.
