Tabebuia roseo-alba, known as pink ipê, is a tree about 16 meters high, widely used in landscaping. The objective was to characterize the morphology of the fruit, seed, seedling and young plant of T.roseo-alba, and to describe the type of germination. We used 30 fruits, 30 seeds, 10 seedlings and 10 young plants, describing their morphology. Of the fruits, the general morphology, coloration, texture, consistency, dehiscence and indumentation were recorded; the tegument and embryo of the seeds were described, and the main vegetative elements of the seedlings and young plants were described. Seedlings were considered to be the stage of development where the eophiliums were fully formed, and young plants from the appearance of the second pair of eophiliums. The entire study was based on specialized literature and the morphological characters were illustrated with photographs. The species presented, green immature fruit, brown mature, capsule type, dehiscent, subapiculate, persistent calyx, anemochoric dispersion syndrome. Seeds winged, forehead brownish, pearly, shiny; wings pinkish; hilum depressed, cartilaginous, brownish; embryo cotyledonary, axial, foliaceous, invaginated; cotyledons large, light brown, bilobed, fleshy, auriculate; radicle hypocotyl axis reduced. Germination phanerocotyledonary epigeic. Seedling with green, simple, opposite, symmetrical, lanceolate, serrate eophylls, with green, rounded gland-like structures and brochidodromous nervation. Young plant similar to the seedling, with decussate phyllotaxy. This characterization provides subsidies for the identification of the species in the field, consequently, providing information for forest management. |
