These communities practically live off the collection and sale of Açaí, Cocoa, and shrimp fishing. In the past, these people also earned money from rubber trees, at the time of the Agronomic Institute of the North, currently EMBRAPA. The objective of the research is to retrace the life history of the riverside dwellers of the CEASA and Aurá harbor, as well as to follow the extraction process of açaí, cocoa, and shrimp fishing, in order to subsidize the main project in its final objective, to introduce improvements in the way of life of these people. It is very important to understand the historical context in which these communities developed, and to have the notion that their means of survival is directly related to the economic potentiality of the natural resources available in the researched region. The research is being developed through fieldwork, where we follow the collection and sale of the main extractive products of the region (açaí and cacao) and interview older residents of the communities Porto da CEASA and Aurá, with the purpose of remembering the life history of these people, and consequently of the communities. We know that the communities' main activity is the collection and sale of açaí, secondly the collection and sale of cocoa, and thirdly the fishing of shrimp. In the past it was not always like this, as there was a time when many açaí rags were thrown away for lack of anyone to buy them, and in this period, the 60s, what allowed the survival of the riverside dwellers was the extraction of syringe trees to be sold at COPALA. Esta pesquisa visa registrar os modos de sobrevivência e a História dos moradores ribeirinhos da comunidade Porto da CEASA, e Nossa dos Navegantes (Aurá). Estas comunidades vivem praticamente da coleta e venda do Açaí, do Cacau, e da pesca do camarão, sendo que no passado trazia ganhos para estas pessoas também a Seringa na época do instituto agronômico do Norte, atual EMBRAPA. O objetivo da pesquisa é remontar a História de vida dos moradores ribeirinhos do Porto da CEASA e do Aurá, bem como acompanhar o processo extrativo do açaí, e do Cacau, além da pesca do camarão, para subsidiar o projeto principal no seu objetivo final, de introduzir melhorias no modo de vida dessas pessoas. É muito importante entender o contexto histórico em que foi se desenvolvendo estas comunidades e ter a noção que o meio de sobrevivência deles está diretamente relacionado com a potencialidade econômica dos recursos naturais disponíveis na região pesquisada. A pesquisa está sendo desenvolvida através de trabalho de campo, onde acompanhamos a coleta e venda dos principais produtos extrativos da região (açaí e cacau) e entrevistamos moradores mais idosos das comunidades Porto da CEASA e do Aurá, com a finalidade de rememorar a História de vida dessas pessoas, e consequentemente das comunidades. Sabemos que as comunidades têm como principal atividade a coleta e venda do açaí, em segundo lugar a coleta e venda do cacau, e em terceiro lugar a pesca do camarão.
