There is a need for policies to recognize these knowledges, in order to remove them from the character of subalternized by official hegemonic systems. Este artigo discutirá a relação entre os conhecimentos das populações tradicionais amazônicas à luz do debate de reconhecimento e identidades, através do diálogo com Charles Taylor. Verificou-se que o status de conhecimento tradicional ao conhecimento oriundo de populações tradicionais é uma forma de inferiorizar seu sistema cognitivo, fazendo com que a justiça social não seja efetivada.
