A total of 42 volatile constituents were identified in the root, with Pentadecanal, Veratryl alcohol, Palmitic acid, and 2-Decanone as the major components. From the rhizome 38 constituents were identified, and the most significative were: Palmitic acid, Pentadecanal, Tetracosane, Dehydro-1,8-cineole, and Phytone. This is the first report on the volatile constituents of Montrichardia linifera. Os constituintes voláteis da raiz e do rizoma de Montrichardia linifera, coletados no aningal do Mangal das Garças, em Belém, Pará, foram obtidos por destilação e extração simultânea (DES) e analisados por cromatografia gasosa acoplada à espectrometria de massa (CG-EM), com o objetivo de contribuir para a identificação desses constituintes, submetidos a dois tempos de extração. Um total de 42 constituintes voláteis foi identificado na raiz, sendo pentadecanal, álcool veratril, ácido palmítico e 2-decanona os constituintes majoritários. Do rizoma, foram identificados 38 componentes voláteis, destacando-se o ácido palmítico, pentadecanal, tetracosano, desidro-1,8-cineol e fitona.
