Three-hundred an thirty-four archeological sites are listed for the Amazon Region of Brazil, which were rearched and catalogued in the period fron January, 1978, to December, 1982.Each site is succinctly described, by archeological area, giving geographical localization, physical aspects, artifacts involved, author or authors of the research, year, and specific bibliographic citations. The purpose of this list is to complement the previous register of archeological sites, organized by Simões and Araujo-Costa (1978)and publishedd in the same series as the present work. Included as an appendix, revised accousts are given of those sites from the earlier list whose original descriptions needed modifications for one reason or another. |
