In the present article the author focuses mainly the Galibí of the Oiapoque River village (population 62), Territory of Amapá, Brazil. Linguistic affiliation of the tribes of the area, their possible distribution in three cultural areas, and their cult~ral classüication are given in the introduction. The main part of the paper is divided. in ten chapters: Villages and population, Clothing, Marriage and Family, Manufactures, Economy, Chieftain, Life cycle, Amusement, Religion, Shamamism .
