Resumo:
The work aims to discuss the importance of traditional knowledge peasant in building an agroe-cological transition, seeking to reflect on the experiences in Mount Zion community in São Do-mingos do Capim in the State of Pará. Therefore, it was used as a method to literature through the lifting of the theoretical framework on peasant agriculture, agroecology and traditional know-ledge, and field research conducted in a ecologically-based agriculture space, being used as tools, cross walk, informal conversation and direct observation. From the dialogue with authors and field experience, it was possible to understand that the traditional knowledge of farmers are critical to the understanding of their practices and beliefs, and that the farmer’s wisdom brings knowledge of nature, practical components and spiritual.
