Resumo:
This study reflects on the insertion of the work as an pedagogical principle in agroforestry training process at Campus Castanhal of the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará (IFPA/Castanhal), Brazil. The experiments took place in the Pedagogical Unit Agroecology Experimentation (UPEA) through theoretical/practical spaces involving teachers, students of different courses and levels of education and farmers. These experiments demonstrated that modifying the logic of thinking work, not as a "training" for this technique, but as an educational principle, is fundamental to reframe the training of professionals in agricultural sciences. It is important for the formation of subjects with reflective capacity, and critical dimensional reality of agroecosystems. It was found that the work as an pedagogical principle in agroforestry education constitutes a pedagogical práxis that needs to be discussed and expanded in institutions of agricultural sciences.
