This work presents initially a general approach and examples of renewable and alternative energy sources, emphasizing the solar energy and its photovoltaic energy applications that are quite diversified, being able to be used as a source of isolated communities or in applications connected to the network. This study considers the sizing project of a Photovoltaic Solar System Connected to the Network and isolated, installed in the residence of the student, located in the district Jardim Paraíso, municipality of Tucuruí, state of Pará. The work shows a detailed analysis of the house installations and the type of load installed in each of the environments. From this, an estimate of the monthly consumption of the building is carried out, so that the systems can be compared with that of the energy distribution company. O interesse por energias renováveis cresceu consideravelmente nos últimos anos, devido à preocupação com o meio ambiente e por buscar uma alternativa em relação aos combustíveis fosseis, juntamente à necessidade de ampliar a disponibilidade de energia elétrica para suprir a demanda de energia. Este trabalho apresenta inicialmente uma abordagem geral e exemplos de fontes energias renováveis e alternativas, dando ênfase na energia solar e suas aplicações de energia fotovoltaica que são bastante diversificadas, podendo ser utilizadas como fonte geradora de comunidades isoladas ou em aplicações conectadas à rede. Este estudo considera o projeto de dimensionamento de um sistema Solar Fotovoltaico Conectado à Rede e Isolado, instalado na residência do formando, localizado no bairro Jardim Paraíso, município de Tucuruí, estado do Pará. O trabalho mostra uma análise detalhada das instalações da casa e do tipo de carga instalada em cada um dos ambientes.
