Resumo:
This article takes as its object of study the healing practices in Rio Caeté region, having healer as the main objective of the study, assuming that this subject contributes to system of beliefs and knowledge. To delimit the studied territory, the field research will focus on the village of Acarajó, a rural area of the municipality of Bragança. Therefore, it is understood that these healing practices are not exclusive to contemporaneity, on the contrary, they become more interesting when recognized as practices so old that despite the modernity or several of attempts of the Catholic Church to exercise control over the field beliefs or even prejudice against religions of African origin, one can observe the survival of these practices that have existed since the colonial period.
