This kind of difficult directly interferes in the final quality of the seismic sections, impacting in the evaluation of the exploration potential of some sedimentary basins. Dozens of seismic lines acquired over the Tacutu Basin belong to this context of failure of the exploratory process, in which the seismic processing techniques applied at the time were unable to provide high-quality seismic images to characterize non-conventional oil accumulations, for example, in fractured basalt. This work compares the results of the conventional CMP stacking technique and the non-conventional CRS stacking technique applied on the lines 204-RL-239 and 204-RL-247, acquired over the Tacutu Basin. The main objective is to show the effectiveness of the CRS stacking technique in generating seismic images displaying a more representative local geology using low coverage data. The significant gain in quality of the final sections processed using the CRS method was sufficient to complete this work successfully. O processamento de dados sísmicos adquiridos na década de 80 tem como principais problemáticas a baixa cobertura e a baixa razão sinal-ruido. Esse tipo de dificuldade interfere diretamente na qualidade dos resultados finais das seções sísmicas, prejudicando a avaliação do potencial exploratório de algumas bacias. Dezenas de linhas sísmicas da Bacia do Tacutu, fazem parte desse contexto de insucesso no processo exploratório, onde as técnicas de processamento sísmico aplicadas até então mostraram-se incapazes de promover um imageamento sísmico de alta qualidade que caracterizasse as acumulações não-convencionais de hidrocarbonetos em basaltos fraturados presentes na bacia. Neste trabalho são comparados os resultados da aplicação do método de empilhamento sísmico CMP e do método de empilhamento não convencional CRS sobre as linhas 204-RL-239 e 204-RL-247 da Bacia do Tacutu. O objetivo principal é mostrar a eficácia do empilhamento CRS na geração de imagens sísmicas de melhor qualidade e mais representativas da geologia local, a partir de dados de baixa cobertura.
