The present work has the objective of studying how the digital preservation and preservation of electronic documents, generated and guarded by the Court of Justice of the State of Pará, as well as verify the existence of a digital preservation policy; the formats adopted for digital objects; the information actors and describe the preservation practices adopted by this body of the Judiciary. In this study the methodology used has a descriptive character, with the use of a questionnaire as a research tool, applied to three servers, from the Department of Informatics, characterizing the sample. Subsequently, after analyzing the data, there were some deficiencies, such as, although the preservation policy is mentioned, it is not explicit or divulged; only a preservation strategy is adopted; there is no involvement of information actors in activities related to digital preservation; there is no participation in a collaborative preservation network, among others. However, one technological aspect that should be mentioned is the use of DBMS (Database Manager System) and the Institutional Data Center for the storage of digital documents.
