The Project had as objective analyze and describ the process archives description used on cartographic documents amounted on Professor Jean Hébette’s collection, guarded by Núcleo de Ciências Agropecuário e Desenvolvimento Rural da UFRA, as well, identify description techniques used in documents, for then can detect research tools used on recovery and dissemination of the information include in this collection. Therefore, has used
as method for data collect, researches of bibliografic, exploratory and descriptive, counting with support of direct observation and documentary analysis with the purpose of obtain a better appreciation of the introduced content in this Project. From the data analysis, was possible to realize the importance of the description processo of these documents for the dissemination of the information of historical and social, using Norma Brasileira de Descrição Arquivística – NOBRADE as the most viable solution for the documentary treatment which archives description of cartographic material. Finally/as long, throught the performed research is possible to confirm that the description processo of these documents has brought benefits in relation to the organization of the cartographic material and a better enjoying for user’s access in relation to information, include in these maps.
