It is justified the mediation of the poetic text as a factor of paramount importance for the child's imagination, so it is necessary to present examples and analyzes of poems written for the children's public with themes linked to their daily life making use of an accessible language learning. O trabalho com literatura infantil tem como possibilidade de resultado desenvolver a formação de leitores/escritores competentes, uma vez que é estimulado o desenvolvimento da imaginação infantil, fazendo do sujeito alguém crítico e envolvido com o ato de interpretação do mundo, e através dessa compreensão pode modificar o contexto no qual está inserido; o objetivo desse trabalho é mostrar a importância bem como as diferenças entre o poema e a poesia na literatura infantil, expondo as concepções de estudiosos a respeito da poesia e do poema, fazendo uma reflexão acerca da importância da linguagem poética bem como sua estrutura.
