This work was developed from a qualitative perspective, with field research and data gathering, developed through observation, interaction, half-directed interviews, bibliography and activities with two sixth year's deaf students from Igarapé-Miri's fundamental school, located in Pará state. This study arose from a methodologial need with differentiated strategies according to the student's previous knowledge. At first, the research was based on the regular class activities observations, i. e., without a specific methodology, as an evaluation method of their portuguese learning as a second language (L2) in writing modality. Afterward, with activities formutalion, using textual genres, as for instance, videos, images, newspapers, letters and e-mails, as a teaching and learning methodology, having the comparison and evaluation of the students as a perspective, to, therefore, understand the efficiency and relevance of this method to deaf students education. The result shows that, without a specific methodology, the learning of L2 is very hard, thus, deaf students need activities prepared accordinly to their daily life, and using these resources, they can read and write with complete understanding, to, therefore, apply their citizenship at the world where they live. Este artigo tem como objetivo enfatizar a importância dos gêneros textuais como metodologia no processo de ensino e aprendizagem dos alunos surdos. O trabalho foi desenvolvido a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa, com pesquisa de campo e coletas de dados, desenvolvido através de observação, interação, entrevistas semi-dirigidas, bibliográficas e atividades com dois alunos surdos do 6º ano numa escola municipal de ensino fundamental, localizada no município de Igarapé-Miri no estado do Pará. O estudo partiu de uma necessidade metodológica com estratégicas diferenciadas de acordo com o conhecimento prévio dos alunos. A pesquisa fundamentou-se inicialmente em observação das atividades na turma regular, ou seja, sem uma metodologia especifica, como forma de avaliar sua aprendizagem no Português como segunda língua (L2)na modalidade escrita. E depois, com elaboração de atividades, utilizando gêneros textuais, como por exemplo, vídeo, imagens, jornal, carta e e-mail como metodologia de ensino e aprendizagem, tendo como perspectiva de comparar e avaliar o desenvolvimento dos alunos,para assim, entendermos a eficácia, relevância e principalmente a importância do mesmo no processo de ensino-aprendizagem dos alunos surdos.O resultado mostrou que os participantes, sem uma metodologia especifica, torna-se muito mais difícil sua aprendizagem na L2, eles por tanto, precisam de atividades elaboradas de acordo com o seu dia a dia, e com a utilização destes recursos, que oferece um completo trabalho de leitura e escrita, para assim, exercer sua cidadania no mundo em que vive. 2019-06-21T18:33:25Z 2019-06-21T18:33:25Z 2015-06-18 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação - Artigo CUIMAR, Osmael Pantoja.
