Resumo:
Hygiene industries of raw water for human consumption, known as water treatment plants (ETA) has in your operating process sludge generation (solid waste) especially in settling of solids floculados units and, to a lesser volume in the water filtration step, being that these residues are still generally released into the environment without pretreatment, which trigger the pollution of water resources. The study was carried out in the town of Tucuruí, Pará, in the water treatment plant that belongs to the Eletronorte, serving residential village with 2564 homes and current population estimated at 12,820 inhabitants. The overall objective of this study was to propose the design of a adensador by gravity and a drying Bed, guided by legal regulations and parameters established by the environmental legislation of the national environmental Council (CONAMA), such as the Resolutions No. 430/2011 and no. 357/2005 and in accordance with the recommendations of the Brazilian Association of technical standards (ABNT) NBR 12,209/2011 and NBR 10,004/2004. For data acquisition, were collected wash water samples, where measurements and calculations performed and analysis of sludge samples collected showed that ETA uses daily 1,106.28 m ³ of water for cleaning decanters and combined filters, corresponding to approximately 10% of the volume of treated water and 18.2 m ³ fresh mud, approximately 0.17%, respectively. Thus, these data and ETA information were fundamental to the proposition of sludge treatment units, being the Adensador by gravity and the drying Bed as more affordable alternatives and consider environmental issues related to waste the ETA of the residential village of Eletronorte.
