During this period, the climatology of these regions is characterized by intense and prolonged precipitation, a period known as the rainy season. Due to lack of local infrastructure and the urban planning, some cities in the Amazon NEB become risk areas during the months of the rainy season when the river level rise and cause floods. In particular, during the year 2009, the disasters triggered by floods result in a great number of publications in Official Journal, with several cities declaring emergency and calamity situations. The presence of La Niña over the Pacific Ocean and the phase of the positive dipole over the tropical Atlantic Ocean favor the activity of the ITCZ and SACZ. These interactions between the mechanisms of large-scale climatic atmosphere and ocean-atmospheric systems contributed to the heavy rains in much of the Amazon and NEB for the period January to May 2009, which justifies practically associated with the region's vulnerability to occurrence of natural disasters in this region. Reporta-se o mapeamento dos desastres naturais associados às enchentes e inundações registradas na Amazônia e Nordeste Brasileiro (NEB), durante o verão e outono de 2009, bem como descreve a análise climática dos mecanismos de grande escala atuantes. Nesse período a climatologia dessas regiões é caracterizada por intensas e prolongadas chuvas, período conhecido como estação chuvosa. Devido a falta de infra-estrutura local e a ausência de planejamento urbano, alguns municípios na Amazônia e NEB tornam-se áreas de risco durante os meses da estação chuvosa, quando a elevação do nível dos rios geralmente provoca enchentes e inundações. Em particular, durante o ano de 2009, os desastres desencadeados pelas enchentes e inundações tiveram maior número de publicações no Diário Oficial da União, com vários municípios declarando situação de emergência e de calamidade pública. A presença do fenômeno La Niña sobre o Oceano Pacífico e a fase do Dipolo positivo sobre o Oceano Atlântico tropical favoreceram a atuação da ZCIT e da ZCAS. Essas interações entre os mecanismos climáticos de grande escala oceano-atmosfera e os sistemas atmosféricos contribuíram para as chuvas intensas em grande parte da Amazônia e NEB durante o período de Janeiro a Maio de 2009, a qual justifica praticamente, associada à vulnerabilidade da região a ocorrência de desastres naturais nessa região. 2019-08-05T14:26:52Z 2019-08-05T14:26:52Z 2010 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação LEAL, Shirlen Viana.
