It is a multidisciplinary study that uses Remote Sensing Analisys, Structural Geology, Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, Geomorphology and Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) Geochonology. The aim of the research is based on the investigation of the possible relationships between the neotectonic effects over the coastal and shallow marine landscape development and the presence of the Foz do Amazonas basin placed along the marine plataform of the Amapa state. The remote sensing analysis showed the presence of three main sets of fractures and lineaments striking NE-SW, N-S and NW-SE. These directions correspond to the structural trends of the main fractures, shear zones, shear bands and lineations observed in the basement rocks. The geomorphologic domains present in the area are closely controlled by the basement faults and shear structures, affecting the drainage and relieve patterns, strongly suggesting a recent to sub-recent tectonic reactivation. The sedimentary studies pointed out the presence of two morphologic units: a sandy terrace and a sandy-muddy terrace with OSL ages from 80.000 to 30.000 years BP, differently from the early mappings that refer to these sediments as Miocene- Pliocene sedimentary rocks of the Barreiras Group. The Pleistocenic history of the coastal Amapa region was strongly affected by glacioeustatic processes and also neotectonic reactivations coeval with isostatic uplift and subsidence that are mostly related to the latter tectonic activities of the adjacent Foz do Amazonas basin. O presente estudo reúne dados referentes à geologia das rochas do embasamento arqueano – paleoproterozóico e das rochas sedimentares e sedimentos que afloram na região costeira do estado do Amapá e adjacências, através de uma avaliação multidisciplinar com base no Sensoriamento Remoto, Geologia Estrutural, Sedimentologia, Estratigrafia, Geomorfologia e datação absoluta por Luminescência Oticamente Estimulada (LOE). O trabalho teve como objetivo a investigação das possíveis relações entre a tectônica neógena / recente com a evolução geológica e paisagística dos ambientes costeiros e marinhos rasos, relacionados a distintos eventos morfotectônicos, no contexto da dinâmica deposicional da desembocadura do rio Amazonas e adjacências. A leitura e análise das imagens de sensores remotos e aerogeofísicas mostram um padrão de lineamentos tridirecional, com direções: NE-SW, N-S e NW-SE. Estas direções são observadas nas rochas do embasamento através de foliações, lineações, bandas de cisalhamento e fraturas. A relação entre estes lineamentos sugerem a presença de compartimentos neotectônicos, controlados por prováveis falhas do embasamento, responsáveis por reajustes de relevo / drenagem em decorrência de reativações tectônicas recente a sub-recentes. O estudo sedimentológico e estratigráfico feito nos depósitos sedimentares, com o auxílio da datação geocronológica por Luminescência OticamenteEstimulada (LOE), permitiram classificá-los como depósitos pleistocênicos sobrepostos discordantemente sobre as rochas do embasamento, onde foram individualizadas duas unidades morfológicas distintas: Terraço arenoso e Terraço areno-argiloso. As idades obtidas por LOE para esses terraços mostram um intervalo de 80.000 a 30.000 anos AP, o que descarta a possibilidade de enquadrá-lo no Grupo Barreiras, de idades Miocena-Pliocena. A história geológica pleistocênica na região costeira do Amapá foi amplamente influenciada por processos glácio-eustáticos, conduzidos por variações substanciais do nível do mar e por fatores tectônicos, com atuação de fenômenos de soerguimento e subsidência, associados a blocos falhados, em conjunto com processos isostáticos.
