The Marahú beach, located on Mosqueiro Island/PA and directly connected to the Pará River estuary, is classified as a estuarine beach. In it is occurring a marked erosive process, being remarkable the expressive action of the cross-shore current in the beach. In view of this, this work aimed to analyze the cross-shore sediments transport on the Marahú beach and its effects on the erosive or depositional processes in three sectors of it. A field campaign was carried out in May 2017 (rainy season) to analyze the sedimentary balance (sediment deposition and removal) on the beach during this period. In the three studied sectors were collected sediments from the cross-shore transport using a trap in the swash zone, sometimes in the opposite direction to the river, sometimes in the opposite direction to the continent. Measurements of waves and winds were also made on the beach. Afterwards, laboratory analyzes were carried out, using sieving techniques aiming the separation of the sediments. The obtained data were later calculated to understand the sediment transported by transverse currents, the variations in the sedimentation during flood tides and ebb and during the flow and reflux of waves in the three sectors of the beach. Analyzing the results obtained with the trap, it was observed that during the flood tide the volume of sediments transported by waves and currents was greater than in the ebb tide, as well as the gran size of the collected sediments and height of waves. In the three sectors, the amount of sediment coming on the beach (from the swash) was greater than the amount of sediment coming out (from the backwash), except for the collection made in the eastern sector during the ebb tide. This sector presented erosive characteristics, as well as the central sector. The western sector presented depositional characteristics, since about 50% of the sediments transported to the beach face are deposited in this region and do not return during the backwash of waves. As praias estuarinas são depósitos intermareais de areia ou cascalho às margens de estuários. A praia do Marahú, localizada na Ilha de Mosqueiro/PA e banhada pelo estuário do Rio Pará, é classificada como uma praia estuarina. Nela está ocorrendo acentuado processo erosivo, sendo notável a ação expressiva da corrente transversal na praia. Diante disto, este trabalho visou analisar o transporte transversal de sedimentos na praia do Marahú e seus efeitos nos processos erosivos ou deposicionais em três setores dela. Foi realizada uma campanha de campo em maio de 2017 (período chuvoso) visando analisar o balanço sedimentar (entrada/deposição e remoção de sedimentos) na praia durante as marés de enchente e vazante, e durante o fluxo e refluxo de ondas nos três setores da praia. Nos três setores estudados foram feitas coletas de sedimentos provenientes do transporte transversal utilizando uma armadilha na zona de espraiamento, ora no sentido contrário ao rio, ora no sentido contrário ao continente. Também foram feitas medições de ondas e ventos na praia. Em seguida foram realizadas análises em laboratório, com técnicas de peneiramento visando separação granulométrica dos sedimentos. Os dados obtidos foram posteriormente calculados para compreender a taxa de sedimentos transportados por correntes transversais e as variações na sedimentação praial. Analisando os resultados obtidos com o trap de espraimento, notou-se que durante a maré enchente o volume de sedimentos transportados transversalmente por ondas e correntes foi maior que na maré vazante, assim como a granulometria dos sedimentos coletados e altura de ondas. Nos três setores a quantidade de sedimentos chegando à praia (proveniente do fluxo da deriva praial) foi maior que a quantidade de sedimentos saindo (proveniente do refluxo da deriva praial), com exceção da coleta realizada no setor leste, durante a maré vazante. Este setor apresentou características erosivas, assim como o setor central.
