A watershed is defined by the set of surfaces which, through channels and tributaries, drains
rain water, sediment and dissolved substances to a main channel flow or runoff which
converges in a single outlet to vent their feelings. The Caeté basin, located in the coastal state
of Pará, is limited to the north by the Atlantic Ocean to the south by the River Guamá, east of
the river basins and river Urumajó Piriá, and west by the basins of the rivers and Maracanã
Quatipuru. It's kind exorreica. The delineation of a watershed is one of the first and most
common procedures performed in the planning phase in any investigations under
hydrological, hidrossedimentares etc. To achieve the objectives proposed in this study, it was
divided into several steps such as conducting a literature review and using the program
ArcGIS 9.2 and application of Global Mapper 6, considering the removal of analog and
digital data for the development of an environment GIS (Geographic Information System).
From the digital elevation model were generated different rasters based on hydrology (such as
direction of flow, accumulated flow to perimeter flow, river and channel order), which
allowed us to perform product analysis automated generation of river basin concerned. Six
municipalities in the northeastern part of Pará River Basin Caeté: Bonito, Bragança, Belem,
Fatima, Santa Luzia do Pará and cvs. It has an area of 2060.76 km² and a perimeter of 316 km
from the source (the city of Bonito) the mouth (municipality of Bragança). With the
integration of cartographic (ANA, SIGIEP, IBGE and DSG CPRM) has become possible to
build a network area of the Caeté, considering the hierarchy river basin as a fifth-order, more
in line with the pelvis.
