In view of this, the present work deals about the mapping of environmental vulnerability in areas that include the sub-basins on the southern shore of the city of Belém-PA (Tamandaré, Estrada Nova, Tucunduba and Murucutu), identifying areas of greatest environmental fragility and subdiving them into vulnerability classes (low, low average, average, high and very high) to assist in its coastal management. For this, was used with base tematic maps of geology, soil, terrain slope, and land use and cover, that was rastered and reclassified in the software ArcMap 10 into hierarchies categories of vulnerability index for each unit mapped, using empirical values of “1” (less vulnerable) to “5” (more vulnerable). From de analysis of environmental vulnerability map, it was observed in the study area the predominance of the class of high vulnerability in the region, corresponding to 36,71% of the study area, characterized mainly by the interaction of the Urban area land use class, in lithologic units of Pós-barreira sediments and great representation of the class of very high vulnerability, associated with the establishment of the Urban area land use class, in lithologic units of recent sediments, that include the floodplain of Guamá river, and, in regions with classes of terrain slope higher than 6%, both without vegetable coverage, including 21,27% of the study area. The process of urban occupation in areas with very high environmental vulnerability, located near the margins of sub-basins of Tamandaré, Estrada Nova e Tucunduba, happened irregularly, mainly on the shore of Estrada nova sub-basins, with the establishment of artificial structures for residential use, commercial and services activities, in classes of terrain slope lower than 2%, corresponding to the almost flat land, where the runoff is slow, causing environmental problems relating to flood and flooding in this region, while in the edge of the Tucunduba sub-basin, the fragility due the association of environmental aspects considered in this work, show your effects with the soil erosion process. O estudo da vulnerabilidade ambiental consiste em um importante tópico científico para a análise ambiental de zonas costeiras, fornecendo informações a respeito da estabilidade do terreno, no que diz respeito ao seu comportamento face aos processos de morfogênese e pedogênese e suas inter-relações com as pressões de uso e ocupação humana. Em vista disso, o presente trabalho trata do mapeamento da vulnerabilidade ambiental em áreas que compreendem as sub-bacias da orla sul da cidade de Belém-PA (Tamandaré, Estrada Nova, Tucunduba e Murucutu), identificando zonas de maior fragilidade ambiental e subdividindo-as em classes de vulnerabilidade (baixa, baixa à média, média, alta e muito alta) a fim de auxiliar no seu gerenciamento costeiro. Para tanto, foram utilizados como base mapas temáticos de geologia, solos, declividade, uso/ocupação do solo e cobertura vegetal, que foram rasterizados e posteriormente reclassificados no software ArcMap 10 em categorias hierárquicas de índices de vulnerabilidade para cada unidade mapeada, utilizando-se valores empíricos de “1” (menos vulnerável) à “5” (mais vulnerável). A partir da análise do mapa de vulnerabilidade ambiental, foi possível observar na área de estudo o predomínio da classe de alta vulnerabilidade na região, correspondendo à 36,71% da área estudada, caracterizada principalmente pela interação da classe de uso do solo Área urbana com a unidade litológica de sedimentos Pós-barreiras e significativa representatividade da classe de vulnerabilidade muito alta, associada ao estabelecimento da classe de uso do solo Área urbana, em unidades litológicas de sedimentos recentes, que compreendem a planície de inundação do rio Guamá, e em regiões com classes de declividades superiores à 6%, ambas com ausência de cobertura vegetal, compreendendo 21,27% da área de estudo. O processo de ocupação urbana nas áreas de vulnerabilidade ambiental muito alta, localizadas nas proximidades das margens das sub-bacias da Tamandaré, Estrada Nova e Tucunduba, ocorreu de forma irregular, principalmente na orla da sub-bacia da Estrada Nova, com o estabelecimento de estruturas artificiais, para uso habitacional, atividades comerciais e de serviços, em classes de declividades inferiores à 2%, correspondendo à terrenos quase planos, onde o escoamento superficial é lento, ocasionando problemas ambientais relativos à alagamentos e inundações nesta região, enquanto que na orla da sub-bacia do Tucunduba, a fragilidade decorrente da associação dos aspectos ambientais levados em consideração neste trabalho, mostra seus efeitos com o processo de erosão do solo. 2019-08-30T13:54:25Z 2019-08-30T13:54:25Z 2012-01-13 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação MIRANDA, Inaiê Malheiros.
