It is bathed by the river Maratauíra, (tributary of theTocantins river) and it is far about 120 km from the capital of the state, Belém. In Abaetetuba urban occupations at the Maratauíra riverbank bring a public safety problem by the construction of houses without planning and disposal waste, a remarkable fact in the area that comprising the free fair in the city, located on the edge (side) of the city, in which the presence of waste is so intense on the streets as in the river. Another important point is related to water pollution due to accumulation of garage and the presence of floating service stations that sell fuel and other services. In working with the proposed theme we search not only to analyze environmental problems and their causes / effects in this area, but above all present forms of preservation for the citizens themselves become aware of their actions on the environment they inhabit and create mechanisms so that damage does not get bigger to affect them directly. In order to understand how market traders and consumers see this area, an environmental survey was conducted at the trade fair, in which involved respondents answered questions about hygiene, administration, etc. of that area. As a result, the dissaffection of the people related hygiene and cleanliness of the fair, classifying it as a space devoid of hygiene. This picture get worse by the absence of public policies for the management of space that is so important culturally and economically to the people. Problems such as insecurity and urban plagues, among others, have been identified and should be treated. One of the suggested actions is the mobilization of the productive sector, public authorities and market traders, consumers and residents to promote preventive measures for waste minimization, selective collection of recyclable waste and the use of organic waste for animal feed, compost and assistance to charities. O município de Abaetetuba pertence à mesorregião do Nordeste Paraense e Microrregião de Cametá, a 01°43’24” Sul e 48°52‟54” Oeste, com uma área de 1.610,74 km². É banhado pelo rio Maratauíra, afluente do rio Tocantins e esta distante aproximadamente 120 km da capital do estado, Belém. Em Abaetetuba as ocupações urbanas às margens do Rio Maratauíra trazem um problema de segurança pública, devido à construção de habitações sem planejamento e o descarte de resíduos, fato marcante na área que compreende a feira livre do município, localizada na orla (beira) da cidade, na qual, a presença de lixo é forte tanto nas ruas quanto na margem do rio. Outro ponto importante esta relacionado à poluição das águas devido aos acumulo de lixo e a presença de postos de serviço flutuantes que comercializam combustíveis entre outros serviços. Ao trabalhar com a temática proposta procuramos não só analisar os problemas ambientais e suas causas/efeitos nessa área, mas, sobretudo, apresentar formas de preservação para que os próprios cidadãos tomem consciência de suas ações no meio em que habitam e criem mecanismos para que os danos não se tornem maiores chegando a afetá-los diretamente. A fim de entender como feirantes e consumidores veêm esse espaço, foi realizada uma pesquisa socioambiental na feira municipal, na qual, os atores entrevistados responderam perguntas sobre as condições de higiene, administração, etc. do local. Como resultado, foi constatada a insatisfação da população com as condições de higiene e limpeza da feira, classificando-a como um espaço desprovido de higienização. Esse quadro muito se agrava devido ausência de políticas públicas voltadas à administração do espaço que é tão importante cultural e economicamente à população. Problemas como insegurança e presença de pragas urbanas, dentre outros, foram identificados e devem ser tratados. Uma das ações sugeridas é a mobilização do setor produtivo, poder público, bem como feirantes, consumidores e moradores para a promoção de medidas preventivas de minimização de resíduos, coleta seletiva de resíduos recicláveis e o aproveitamento dos resíduos orgânicos para fins de alimentação animal, compostagem e assistência a entidades beneficentes. 2019-09-03T18:58:44Z 2019-09-03T18:58:44Z 2016-08-19 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Especialização RODRIGUES, Rose Conceição da Silva.
