The monograph presented in this paper is a case study of a mining deployed and in operation since 2000, producing sand for construction, located in the municipality of Bofete, and despite the distance of 180 km from the RMSP, its production intended primarily for their care. The choice of this theme is based on the sense that it covers from activities related to licensing of activity (mining legislation and environmental), productive aspects of a mineral resources for direct use in construction as well as the recovery of the area adjacent to advance of mining activities, both topics related to the specialization in course. Therefore its intended to show the entire development of the legal aspects, from the beginning of the research requirement, regime change aspects to promote a rapid start of activity and production, culminating later with the Mining Permit, as well as the environmental licensing in the light of current legislation at the time and how it fits now (especially in relation to the State agency). It will also be described and detailed the mining method, trying to show the methodology adopted and equipment and mining developments over the years. But most importantly, and the main goal is to show the possibility of recovery, an activity seen as evil (mining and especially sand). Since its been 10 years of activity and the company is complying with its activities related to environmental remediation, and the peculiarity of the mineral with the generation of large amounts of sterile, is possible to show the recovery of already mined areas previously and currently being recovered with the same previous vocation (agropastoral), with only a difference in the morphological appearance of the terrain. This will be clearly shown through a collection of photographs and a serial images over the years.
