Objective: To verify if adolescents recognize athletics in their classes and if they experience them in their content in physical education classes. Method: a direct research was carried out with a questionnaire of 5 open questions, of qualitative analysis in the form of field research, in which the data was obtained as a means. Results: Of the two rooms that were applied the questionnaire having a total of 48 students evaluated, all have not yet had experience with athletics in the current school. O atletismo é uma prática esportiva que vem ocupando cada vez mais espaço nas mídias e nas redes sociais principalmente em períodos olímpicos. E essa modalidade precisa ser trabalhada cada vez em ambiente escolar, para crescimento psicomotor de seus alunos, deixando de ser apenas um esporte de formação de atletas. Objetivo: Verificar se os adolescentes reconhecem o atletismo em suas aulas e se as vivenciam em seu conteúdo nas aulas de educação física. Método: foi realizado uma pesquisa direta com um questionário de 5 perguntas abertas, de análise qualitativa em forma de pesquisa de campo, no qual teve como meio a obtenção de dados.
