Resumo:
This study was conducted in order to characterize the ecomorphological structure of the fishes assemblage located in 10 streams inside and outside the Caxiuanã National Forest (CNF), and observe the morphology of living species in these locations. Samples were collected in the dry season (October and November / 2012) in five streams within the Flona and five in the surrounding area, totaling 10 streams. Samples were collected in stretches of 150 meters per stream. Fish were sampled with hand nets (sieves) made with metal mesh of five millimeters, with a total sampling effort of six hours. The streams chosen for analysis were added up 13 species within the National Forest and 11 in the surroundings. Absolute measures of ten specimens of each species were taken. These measures were related in nine morphological attributes. The results indicate that the assemblage residing inside the Flona shows morphology compatible with more active fish, indicating individuals that feed by actively swimming in the water column near the surface. However, the assemblage outside the Flona displays variable morphology, with examples of active swimmers, others slow and greater capacity for vertical displacement, with predominant species associated to macrophyte banks.
