Cultural objects are considered parts materials referring memory, identity and history of a society, because they are considered cultural transmitters, which justify actions aimed at preservation and dissemination. This research discusses questions related to preventive conservation, with respect to the factors that cause the deterioration of materials, environmental exposure conditions, types of materials, anthropogenic factors and introduces conservation procedures for types of exhibition supports, focusing on the Amazon’s region particularities, using as a case study the Art Museum of Belém. The analysis and proposals discussed here, take place in three exhibition rooms of the museum: Domenico Angellis, Armando Balloni and Ruy Meira. This study aims to collaborate with conservation policies and preservation of museum institutions in the Amazon, according to its climatic characteristics, taking into account physical, chemical, and environmental problems related to the management, factors that hinder the actual scope of the functions of museums: collect, document, search, conservation and communicate. |
