The objective of this work was firstly to compare quantitatively the hydrogenic potential (pH) on the labels of three brands of mineral water marketed in the city of Abaetetuba-PA with the results obtained experimentally, where in the latter a logarithmic scale was present intrinsically in the equipment called phmetro. Posteriorly, a similar comparison strategy was used using a dilute solution of a weak acid called acetic; however, three pH values have been obtained which are: theoretical, experimental and numerical. In relation to the theoretical result was used an analytical formula that quantifies the so-called acidity constant, in its turns in the experimental was used again the phmetro, and the numerical was determined through an equation (modeling), where the root of the same in which was necessary to calculate the pH in question, was estimated using the Newton-Raphson method using a computational environment to determine the necessary computations. In the comparison involving the mineral waters it was possible to indicate that they have values of pH below that recommended by the current legislation. As for the comparison of the pH of the dilute acetic acid solution, It was verified the effectiveness of a numerical strategy for its determination.
