The article comprises a case study carried out in this school with one teacher and two students of the same class. Based on research done, it was found that there are many the difficulties faced by teachers and students in acquiring reading and writing skills; but the existence of these classes has contributed significantly to the training and education peasants and students served in this modality of teaching. During the interview it became clear that, even with all the limitations faced, in relation to resources, family support among others, the teacher does her job in the best way possible, in order to contribute to the development of students. O presente artigo, que tem como tema “Prática de letramento nas classes multisseriadas da Escola Municipal Cristo Rei, no município de Abaetetuba-PA”, surgiu da inquietação de analisar como os professores das classes multisseriadas desenvolvem as práticas de letramento com os alunos do 2º e 3º ano do Ensino Fundamental, na Escola Cristo Rei. O artigo compreende um estudo de caso realizado na referida escola com uma professora e dois alunos da mesma turma. Com base nas pesquisas feitas, verificou-se que são muitas as dificuldades enfrentadas por docentes e alunos na aquisição das habilidades de leitura e escrita; porém a existência dessas classes tem contribuído de forma significativa para a formação e educação dos camponeses e dos alunos atendidos nessa modalidade de ensino.
