Resumo:
The coastal zone is a space of great interest to humans, and because it is an area of constant dynamics, it is essential to monitor it. During the last decades, the population increase in coastal regions has been significant, causing several situations of social and environmental imbalance, with strong impacts on ecosystems. The Amazon Coastal Zone is no exception to this rule. The main objective of this study is to follow in detail the causes of the main changes in land cover related to three municipalities, Santo Antônio do Tauá, Colares and Vigia, studied during 1984, 1994 and 2017 through remote sensing products and their applications, which make it possible to obtain essential data for environmental monitoring. The images used in the project were scenes from Land Remote Sensing Satellite (LANDSAT), orbit-point 223/61, which covers the three municipalities, obtained free of charge from the website of the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe), made the combination R5-G4-B3 for the LANDSAT 5 TM sensor, and R6-G5-B4 for the OLI sensor from the same satellite. Through the supervised classification, changes in land cover could be observed and, from this, it was clearly perceived the changes over time in the study area. Based on the results, it was possible to identify the impact of human interventions for various purposes related to rural and urban uses, especially the manipulation of vegetation cover, transforming the landscape. This was demonstrated by dynamics such as the expansion of classes such as permanent cultivation, sand and capoeiras. On the other hand, the ombrophilous forest, due to the degradation of the vegetation cover, decreased considerably, which shows a significant deforestation in the area. In the coast line the growth of the mangrove vegetation was observed, linked to the dynamics of the coastal factors that act in Marajó bay.
