It is clear from the social-political history that the country has traces and influence of this community. It is noticed that there is still within the school space an inequality in dealing with the approach of culture issues of this people mainly to the core of religious principles. In this sense, it is necessary that there is an adequate qualification in the teacher training courses and that the professional leaving the academy is able to deal with the diversity present in the school environment. This includes what Law 10,639 states, which establishes the obligation of this teaching in schools. The aim of this paper is to analyze abstracts of theses and dissertations that deal with the thematic African religious cultural diversity, in the formation of teachers of the early years of elementary school I. This is a qualitative research of bibliographic character. The methodology followed three moments. The first consisted in the survey of theses and dissertations available in the database of the libraries of three universities of Pará, defended from 2004 to 2019. The second moment consisted of selection and finally analysis. Data were analyzed using ATD-Discursive Textual Analysis. The results show that there is a great distance between what determines the regulatory guidelines of this teaching and the teaching practice. We consider it necessary to educate future educators properly, to properly approach this theme, providing a solid basis for the teaching of Afro-Brazilian culture and history to be transmitted, valued, and free from the fears and prejudices that surround them in the educational environment. É notável traços e influências da matriz africana na formação da população brasileira, apesar de haver no espaço escolar uma desigualdade no tratamento da abordagem de temas da cultura negra, principalmente no que tange aos princípios religiosos. Nesse sentido, é necessário existir nos cursos de formação docente qualificação adequada de modo que o profissional esteja apto a lidar com a diversidade presente no meio escolar em que se insere. Isso contempla o que as Leis 10.639 e a 11.645 orientam ao estabelecerem a obrigatoriedade do ensino da história e da cultura africana e indígena no currículo escolar. Frente a isso, temos como objetivo analisar resumos de teses e dissertações que tratam da diversidade cultural religiosa africana na formação de professores dos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental I. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa de caráter bibliográfico cujos procedimentos ocorreram em três momentos: no primeiro houve o levantamento de teses e dissertações disponíveis no banco de dados das bibliotecas de três universidades do Pará, defendidas de 2004 a 2019. No segundo, a seleção dos trabalhos e no terceiro, a análise dos resumos por meio da Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). Os resultados evidenciam um grande distanciamento entre o que determina as diretrizes regulamentadoras desse ensino para a diversidade e a prática docente.
