This work aims show the contributions of Paulo Freire's theory to rethink the structuring of
education, as the implementation of popular education aimed the popular masses’
emancipation with the intention of analyzing and correlating Freirean theory with the urban
peripheral areas planning show his influence in the construction of a libertarian,
emancipatory and popular education. Is used a bibliographical research as a methodological
tool that supported the search for possible answers about the Freirean method as a tool for
emancipatory strengthening of the urban peripheries. This article conclude that Paulo Freire
established categories that were essential for the direction of education as an instrument that
aims the critical consciousness and emancipation of the human being oppressed by
capitalism’ relationships, that are nowadays mainly found in urban peripheries. |
