The photographic image contains many particularity and the photograph can be considered as document of historical value, due to the own elements that the image transmits. In this sense, the general objective is to analyze the form and procedures used for the treatment of photography in the Museum of the Federal University of Pará and as specific objectives: a) to reflect on the historical and documentary function of photographic images as sources of information, analyzed the forms of storage, preservation and preservation of photographic images; b) identify the ways of storing, preserving and preserving information through photographic images in MUFPA; c) show the ways of disseminating the MUFPA photographic collection. For this, a descriptive, exploratory and bibliographical study was carried out on photography, in order to answer the questions of the use of the photographic image as source of information, historical and documentary, as well as a case study, in which studies were done, collection of data, interviews and observation in the MUFPA photographic collection, in order to know how to organize, preserve and preserve the photographs in the Museum. The interview was carried out with the person responsible for the photographs that compose the Museum's photographic collection, as well as the analysis and observation of the processes in which the images are submitted. As a result, it was found that photography as a source of historical information becomes a tool that assists the production of knowledge and must be treated in a suitable way for its conservation. Finally, it is concluded that the photographs in the MUFPA are considered for their historical and documentary function as source of information, being preserved and preserved for that purpose. However, it has been realized that the dissemination of these photographs should be further promoted |
