Therefore, this study aims to identify preservation policies and strategies, observe the obstacles that digital archival documents have in keeping up with the continuous evolution of Information Technology. According to the literature, digital preservation is understood to be essential for the long-term reading of archival documents to be possible while maintaining their integrity. The research is developed from a case study to describes the PIQL company, which aims to cross the theory of archival literature and the preservation process with the PIQL. Therefore, the company presents the policies necessary for efficient and effective preservation, as well as the OAIS: ISO 14721: 2002 model and the Brazilian Microfilm Law No. 5.433 and No. 1.799, regulations that guide the document preservation policies. The PIQL has a policy that ensures long-term continuous access quickly and efficiently. When it comes to strategies, PIQL brings a technology that avoids risks that some strategies have, such as between migrating obsolete media to current media, among other strategies. Technology somehow becomes a conservation of hardware and software, along with long-term storage support. As a result, PIQL becomes a big actor in digital archiving document preservation technologies, hired by several major film companies such as Warner Bros. Pictures and Walt Disney Studios, major banks such as Itaú, among others. In addition, it is one of the institutions at the head of the World Arctic Archive, along with other technologies institutions. Therefore, from the obtained data it is noticeable that PIQL's technology is better than other preservation technologies, the technology is well ahead of the others companies. Esta pesquisa tem como intuito enfatizar as preocupações que contornam a preservação digital e que podem prejudicar de alguma forma o acesso continuo do conteúdo informacional dos documentos arquivísticos digitais. Logo, este estudo tem como objetivo identificar as políticas e estratégias de preservação, observar os obstáculos que os documentos arquivísticos digitais possuem em acompanhar a evolução contínua da Tecnologia da Informação. Entende-se que a preservação de acordo com a literatura é essencial para que a leitura a longo prazo dos documentos arquivísticos seja possível e mantendo a sua integridade. A pesquisa é desenvolvida a partir de um estudo de caso sobre a empresa PIQL de caráter descritivo, que tem como finalidade cruzar a teoria de nomes da literatura arquivística com o processo de preservação dentro da PIQL. Portanto, a empresa apresenta as políticas necessárias para uma preservação eficiente e eficaz, assim como o modelo OAIS: ISO 14721:2002 e a Lei de Microfilme N° 5.433 e o decreto que N° 1.799, regulamentos que norteiam as políticas de preservação de documentos arquivísticos. A PIQL apresenta uma política que garante o acesso continuo ao longo prazo de forma ágil e eficiente. Quando se refere a estratégias, PIQL traz uma tecnologia que evita riscos que algumas estratégias possuem, como nos intervalos das migrações entre suportes obsoletos para suportes atuais, como entre outras estratégias. A tecnologia de alguma forma se torna uma conservação de hardware e software, em conjunto com o suporte de armazenamento a um longo período. Com isso, a PIQL se torna uma empresa de grande nome no ramo de tecnologias de preservação de documento arquivístico digital, assim contratada por várias empresas importantes na área cinematográfica, como a Warner Bros Pictures e Walt Disney Studios, grandes bancos como o Itaú, entre outros. Além disso, é uma das instituições que está à frente do Arquivo Ártico Mundial, junto com outras instituições de tecnologia.
