Several reasons contribute to the student having learning difficulties, many are unable to learn to read, write, count and when these children enter school and this situation becomes a reality among teachers, these students are considered as backward and little intellectual development. When this lack of learning is related to the discipline of mathematics, then the problem becomes much more complex, since mathematics is considered to have knowledge and that most of the time the student is not prepared for his teaching. Thinking about a teaching proposal that can change, or create possibilities for changes to this situation, this work presents a methodological proposal that shows, in what concrete ways games provide understanding of mathematical concepts. The use of games in the classroom, besides being a playful and pleasant activity for the student, helps in the learning of mathematical concepts involved in situations generated through games, in which the student is instigated to make decisions and control the responses of his colleagues. Allowing the teacher to act as an advisor between their different actions. We tried to search for the origins of games in the learning of mathematics, making mathematics classes less methodical, helping the student to build his knowledge through concrete material, seeking playful methodologies that contribute to an effective learning on the part of students in mathematics. Estudos e pesquisas comprovam a dura realidade de muitas crianças do Brasil e de vários outros países do mundo, quando se fala em dificuldade no ensino aprendizagem. Vários motivos contribuem para que o educando tenha dificuldades em relação ao aprendizado, muitos não conseguem aprender a ler, escrever, contar e quando essas crianças ingressam na escola e essa situação se torna uma realidade entre professores, esses alunos são considerados como atrasados e de pouco desenvolvimento intelectual. Quando esse não aprendizado é relacionado com a disciplina de matemática, aí o problema se torna muito mais complexo, pois a matemática é tida como detentora de conhecimento e que na maioria das vezes o aluno não está preparado para o seu ensino. Pensando-se em uma proposta de ensino que possa mudar, ou criar possibilidades de mudanças a essa situação, apresenta-se neste trabalho uma proposta metodológica que mostra, de que forma materiais concretos como os jogos proporcionam compreensão de conceitos matemáticos. O emprego de jogos na sala de aula, além de ser uma atividade lúdica e agradável ao aluno, auxilia na aprendizagem de conceitos matemáticos envolvidos nas situações geradas através dos jogos, em que o aluno é instigado a tomar decisões e controlar as respostas de seus colegas, permitindo ao professor atuar como orientador entre as distintas ações deles.
