The use of induction stoves as described in this study shows an important part of history, which over the years has had numerous contributions from several scholars enabling what we have today in relation to the evolution of technologies that allow us a better performance related to time and practicality. The induction cooker as object of study, an information was made with relevance so that we can make a more complete analysis addressing its physical characteristics, operating mode, energy matrices and also its comparison with the heating system of gas stoves. Este trabalho aborda o estudo sobre como o sistema de aquecimento por indução vem se estabelecendo dentro de um meio social, onde o uso de métodos tradicionais, que ainda prevalece, no preparo de alimentos e entre outras atividades. O uso dos fogões por indução como é descrito neste estudo, mostra parte importante da história, que ao longo dos anos teve inúmeras contribuições de diversos estudiosos possibilitando o que nós temos hoje com relação a evolução de tecnologias que nos permitem um melhor rendimento referente ao tempo e praticidade.
