Resumo:
The present work approaches the theory, functioning, description and utility of four didactic benches, from Fluid Mechanics and Turbomachinery Labs of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) at Tucuruí University Campus (CAMTUC), Faculty of Engineering Mechanics (FEM). These benches have practical use for the development of studies about some basic theories on fluid mechanics, to analyze the behavior of a given fluid doing tests about: viscosity, hydrostatics, Poiseuille flow, Bernoulli flow and Reynolds experiment. In this way, all the work carried out has a theoretical and practical character to analyze each experiment. Focusing on highlighting the importance that real experimentation has for engineering learning. Even more so when referring to fluid mechanics, since this is a discipline that encompasses a very wide range of different situations, which depend on a variety of parameters, such as pipe diameter, viscosity, flow regime, geometry, roughness, etc. Parameters which can influence the fluid behavior in practical engineering applications, such as industrial pipes, submerged surfaces and others. One of the relevant points when studying the present benches is to show in a practical way how the change in bench variables can influence on the phenomena observed even if it is a very similar experiment. The present work also seeks to express some reasons that makes important to study the geometry of some essential elements in fluid mechanics, in order to better understand the formulas and analyzes related to pipes, pressure gauges, pumps and reservoirs, with volume calculations, trigonometric analysis and diameter measurements related to them. Finally, we also endorse some areas of application of fluid mechanics in engineering and situations provided by it.
