The Tapajós River has a high economic and energy potential, in this context, there is a growing concern regarding the impacts caused by climate change, which may have negative effects on hydrosedimentary processes, especially in the Amazon context, which has a biodiversity of preservation areas, including conservation units and Indigenous lands. Thus, the present work aims to understand the hydro-sedimentological time series of the Tapajós River through the statistical method, observing the values of average, maximum, minimum, and coefficient of variation. For this, the instrument for
data collection and analysis was the WBMsed global model, which allowed to produce evidence, indicating that the behavior of the analyzed data is not outside the estimated range. With the results of the six points analyzed for the two climatic scenarios used (RCP's 4.5 and RCP's 8.5), an inconsistency is observed between them, it was expected that there would be an increase in sediments for the pessimistic scenario (8.5), however, this increase occurred in the optimistic scenario (4.5). However, the values between the scenarios were close and the main difference occurred between the points on the Tapajós River and not necessarily between the scenarios. Upon observing this inconsistency, an
analysis was conducted in the mining areas, whose points are located, with the help of data from the MapBiomas platform, it was possible to infer the hypothesis that mining in this locality may be contributing to the increase in the volume of sediments. Thus, it is concluded that the changes can function as catalysts for the environmental impacts that are already occurring in the region, whether due to the accumulation of sediments, but above all due to social and economic problems. |
