The objective of this study was to delimit the hydrographic basin and describe the morphometric characteristics (shape, drainage network and relief) of the Cupijó River Basin, located in the municipalities of Cametá and Limoeiro de Ajuru in the state of Pará, based on data from Copernicus DEM, processed in the free Quantum GIS (QGIS) program, via the Gegraphic information system (SAGA) tool. For the mapping of land use, MapBiomas was used. The basin has 721.904 km², being considered of fifth order, with a drainage density of 0.3113 kmkm-2. It was observed that the average slope was 16.80%, with more than 84% having a slope of less than 8%. The form factor, the compactness coefficient and the circularity index reached values of 0.26; 3.94 and 0.06, respectively the capacity coefficient 3.945, the basin was classified as little susceptible to flooding. The data obtained indicated that a good part of the area is occupied by plantations, with emphasis on areas of crops and pastures. The native vegetation is very present in the region, appearing in fragments of savannah forests, forest formation and swampy area. It was not possible to accurately identify the urban area, due to the part of the basin under study not presenting this very developed area on the limits between the two municipalities.
