The main objective is to compare the readership profile at Fran Paxeco Library between the end of 19th century and the beginning of the 21st century. As specific objectives: a) to recognize the Fran Paxeco Library readership uniqueness from the end of 19th century and the first decades of 21st century; b) to identify these readership interest on the books collection keeping at Fran Paxeco Library. It adopts bibliographic and documentary research as a qualitative methodology approach. It verifies as results that at the end of the 19th century, the readership was formed by students who take classes as bookkeeping formation offered by Grêmio Literário e Recreativo Português. Otherwise, the readership during the first decades of 21st century was constituted almost entirely by professors and others researchers with different academic titles. It is concluded that, if at the end of the 19th century, the Fran Paxeco Library sought works to meet the interests of its readership, which was manifested by educational and entertainment demand, and currently this library receives a reader interested in its collection for its historical and literary importance. Traça os perfis do público-leitor da Biblioteca Fran Paxeco do final do século XIX e do início do século XXI. Tem como objetivo geral comparar o perfil do públicoleitor da Biblioteca Fran Paxeco do final do século XIX e do início do século XXI e como objetivos específicos: a) reconhecer as particularidades do público-leitor da Biblioteca Fran Paxeco entre o final do XIX e do início do século XXI e b) identificar o interesse desse público-leitor pelo acervo da Biblioteca Fran Paxeco. Adota as pesquisas bibliográfica e documental, de natureza qualitativa, como metodologia. Verifica, nos resultados, que no final do século XIX, o público-leitor era constituído por estudantes que participavam do curso de escrituração mercantil ofertado pelo Grêmio Literário e Recreativo Português. Enquanto que o público-leitor do século XXI é constituído quase totalmente por professores e demais pesquisadores de diferentes níveis de ensino.
