In this scenario, much was required of health professionals. In the midst of so many uncertainties regarding the prognosis of infections, the lack of perspective of improvement in the course of the world scenario, health professionals were forced to face this unknown agent, plunging into exhausting work routines, many of which they offered precarious working conditions, in addition to increasingly long working hours due to the excessive increase in demand from patients in conditions that required some hospital care. In this context, it was noted the need to investigate the mental health condition of professionals who were inserted in hospitals in BelémPA. Objective: To analyze the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on the mental health of health professionals who work on duty in emergency care. Methodology: Crosssectional study, developed from the elaboration of a questionnaire submitted to participants via Google Forms, in which it contained questions that made up three different assessment scales already validated in the national literature: one for anxiety, another for insomnia and a third to assess stress of the interviewee. The data obtained were collected and analyzed using the chisquare test. Results: The research had the collaboration of 43 health professionals who were on the front lines of the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic, working in the city of BelémPA. There was a higher prevalence of females, who represented 65.1% of the total number of respondents. In addition, a higher prevalence of participants under 30 years of age (53.5%) was noticed, as well as a majority had a working day on the front line greater than 36 hours per week. Another point identified in the data obtained was the absence of any comorbidities in most respondents (60.5%). Furthermore, it was reported that more than half of the respondents (72.1%) had some degree of difficulty sleeping properly. Added to this, a scatter plot was designed that revealed an R= 37.98%, allowing the conclusion that there is an association between fatigue and insomnia. Finally, based on data collected from the responses to the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD7) questionnaire, it was found that 77.3% of those surveyed had some degree of anxiety during the period studied. Conclusion: In view of the data collected and the results obtained, it was possible to conclude that the COVID19 pandemic affected the mental health of health professionals.
