Fifteen C. macropomum juveniles were reduced to isolate the bacteria, reduced for removal of the digestive tract, then the strains were subjected to in vitro assays, pH and other tests. The experimental design was randomized with different pH variations (4, 5, 6, 8 and 9) and a tube containing 5% (w / v) bile salts. For antagonism tests, four discs (Ø 0.8 cm) were removed and inoculated in TSA culture medium with pathogenic bacteria. Subsequently, as strains with the best results were identified. No total was isolated from 31 bacterial strains of C. macropomum juveniles, with 8 strains selected for in vitro assays. Strain T12A and T4A had a lower reduction in pH 6, 8 and 9 and, for the others, strain T12A decreased 9%. Regarding antagonism, such as T3AR, T4AR, T12A and T2AR strains, they stand out for pointing greater antagonistic action against Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Therefore, strain T12A was identified molecularly as Bacillus cereus, demonstrating probiótic potential for Colossoma macropomum (Tambaqui). O presente estudo objetivou isolar e selecionar cepas de bactérias com potencial probiótico do trato intestinal de Colossoma macropomum. Para o isolamento das bactérias foram utilizados quinze juvenis de C. macropomum saudáveis para a retirada do trato digestório, em seguida as cepas foram submetidas a ensaios in vitro, de pH e sais biliares. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado com distintas concentrações de pH (4, 5, 6, 8 e 9) e um tubo contendo 5% (p/v) de sais biliares. Para o teste de antagonismo, foram retiradas quatro discos (Ø 0,8 cm) e inoculadas em meio de cultura TSA bactérias patogênicas. Posteriormente, as cepas com os melhores resultados foram identificadas. No total foram isoladas 31 cepas bacterianas dos juvenis de C. macropomum, sendo 8 cepas selecionadas para os ensaios in vitro. A cepa T12A e T4A tiveram menor redução no pH 6, 8 e 9 e para os sais biliares a cepa T12A apresentou redução de 9%. Em relação ao antagonismo, as cepas T3AR, T4AR, T12A e T2AR se destacaram por apontarem maior ação antagônica frente a bactérias Gram positivas e Gram negativas.
