The red ceramic industry is the sector responsible for a massive portion of the materials used in civil construction and is also a recurring theme of research that aims, through formulations with the addition of different raw materials, to improve the technological properties of the product to meet engineering demands. Then, this work aims to analyze the composition of the mixtures: clay from the region of Jardim do Mulato - Piauí, with copper waste and balloon powder residue, through the physical characterization of the test specimens. X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analyzes were also made. After that, clay specimens formed with mixtures containing 10% and 15% of copper waste and 5% and 10% of balloon dust. The pecimens dried at 105°C and fired at 950°C for 2 hours. The physical characteristics evaluated was water absorption, apparent porosity, and apparent specific mass. The characterization showed that the clay is kaolinitic with elevated levels of SiO2 and Al2O3 and that the best mixing ratio obtained with the formulation containing 15% copper and 10% balloon powder, where it showed better technological properties.
